	Puma, Puma concolor Also known as Cougar or Mountain Lion. Photographed by a critter camera in a residential area in Los Alamos.
	Coyote, Canis latrans Seen everywhere, most commonly at dusk or dawn, but may be out at any time of the day or night.
	Black Bear, Ursus americanus amblyceps A common nocturnal visitor.
	Bobcat, Lynx rufus baileyi Photographed in a yard in White Rock.
	Gray Fox, Urocyon cinereoargenteus Photo taken with a critter-cam in a backyard on Barranca Mesa.
	Elk, Cervus elaphus nelsoni
	Mule Deer, Odocoileus hemionus This is the common deer of the area. This one has antlers in springtime velvet.
	Common Racoon, Procyon lotor
	Ringtail, Bassariscus astutus A rarely-seen nighttime visitor. This one was photographed while raiding a hummingbird feeder on North Mesa.
	American Badger, Taxidea taxus This rarely-seen mammal was photographed in a back yard in the Jemez.
	Ermine Weasel, Mustela erminea muricus This little cutie was photographed under the bird feeder at PEEC. Ermines are white in winter, brown in summer.
	Rock Squirrel, Spermophilus variegatus Also called Ground Squirrel.
	Abert's Squirrel, Sciurus aberti Note that it's Abert's squirrel, not "Albert's". It was named after Colonel John James Abert, an American naturalist.
	Red Squirrel, Tamiasciurus hudsonicus Common names are also spruce squirrel or pine squirrel.
	Colorado Chipmunk, Neotamias quadrivittatus
	Pocket Gopher, Thomomys bottae
